SYNOPSIS
Far, far away, in a little mushroom village, live a group of little blue pixies in short trousers and white bonnets called The Smurfs. Only as tall as three apples, they speak in ‘Smurf’, a language that only they understand. The Smurfs are carefree, peaceful creatures that live in harmony with nature. But they have a nasty habit of wanting to act like man, which causes them 1,001 problems.

The SCC has received the following very exciting news from our Smurfy friends! A major Smurf world publication like never before is coming in 2011! Enjoy everyone!! You heard it here first!

Timed for publication with Sony Pictures Animation’s major motion picture release of The Smurfs (August 2011), "The World of Smurfs" will celebrate the history of these beloved characters and charts their trajectory from a comic strip in Belgian magazine Spirou, to the iconic Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, to much sought-after collectibles, to the Hollywood box office and beyond. Along with full-color images throughout, a generously sized hardcover format, and whimsical design touches, The World of Smurfs will feature approximately eight interactive items — ephemera such as sketches, stickers, animation cels, and comics.”
